Lilacs, Summer Jobs & Family Fights

I leave in a week for my summer job. I am really excited. It is a small summer stock company in New York state. I wasn't interested until the actual interview and the artistic director really impressed me with his honesty and mission. So I took the job. Then last week I called him to answer a few questions and he answered the questions he thought I had asked rather than the actual question I asked. That worries me. A lot. A whole lot. An artistic director who doesn't listen . . . oh goodie. So this may be a summer of pain and suffering for me. Oh well.

This weekend was a little preview of the potential suffering this summer. On Saturday the family decided to go to the Apple Store in the Tyson's Mall. Everyone in my family was in a bad mood, myself included. Let's see . . . we had a fight about how to get back on the Dulles Toll Road. A fight about where the restuarant we had chosen for lunch was. A fight about how much to tip the server for the crappy service at said restaurant. A fight about how to get from Tyson's II to Tyson's I (because my father, who was driving, can't listen to my direction because I am gay). A fight about where to park at Tyson's I. A fight about how to get back to Route 7. Needless to say a good time was had by all.
